Abstract

This paper presents the perspectives of students from a university in Romania regarding online education during the pandemic period. A total of 79 respondents participated in this study: 26 students of the Faculty of Letters and Science and 53 students of the Faculty of Economic Sciences at Petroleum and Gas University of Ploiesti, Romania. The age of the students is between 18-40. Online learning within these faculties took place between March 2020 and June 2021, using google meet, zoom and online learning platform of the university. Quantitative analyses procedure was used to investigate the data obtained through a questionnaire. The data analysis revealed social, economic and educational points of view of the characteristics of online learning. The social perspective revealed the lack of interaction between students, and also between students and teachers. From an educational perspective, strengths were represented by the increase in participation in courses and seminars and easier acquisition of knowledge. From an economic perspective students benefited from the financial aspect and the possibility of part time work.
